Progenitor of ancient Avalon’s order of ghting sorcerers, Merlin was the first warrior to combine a passion for sharp swords with powerful battle magic. Years of hard training transformed his skills into a unique and lethal fighting style. Merlin can be played as either a Battlemage or a Spellsword.

As a Lawful Battlemage, Merlin has made strength and sorcery the focal points of his attack technique. Constant training has enabled him to combine spell and sword into a deadly dance. Despite his old age, Merlin served the Wizardry conclave of Avalon to the end, braving unmentionable dangers and training countless spellcaster warriors.

As a Chaotic Spellsword, Merlin blended sword and sorcery to the point that the songs speak of him as the avatar of arcane battle. Fallen foes only served to add to his vast knowledge of mystical lore and rare, as well as exotic, ghting techniques. Despite acting as a lone wolf, Merlin was a valiant hero of the Wizardry conclave of Avalon to the end of his days.

The Merlin Companion card included in this expansion can be used by the hero Arthur – Emperor to include Merlin among the heroes that can be summoned to his aid.
